Our Team

Our Approach

Redefine & Realign Therapy was created with two goals in mind: to provide accessible mental health care for clients and to create a sustainable professional environment for clinicians.

For clients, access to care often begins with comfort and safety. Many people want support but hesitate to leave the familiarity of their home to seek it. Telehealth counseling allows individuals to engage in therapy from the place where they already feel most secure. For many, that means being able to begin meaningful work without adding the stress of travel, waiting rooms, or unfamiliar environments.

For clinicians, the goal is equally intentional. Redefine & Realign Therapy is designed to support providers in building fulfilling careers without the pressures that often lead to burnout. By removing unnecessary administrative burdens and allowing clinicians to work remotely, providers are able to focus on what matters most: delivering thoughtful, ethical care while maintaining balance in their own lives.

The practice is built on collaboration rather than hierarchy. Growth happens through shared effort, professional respect, and a commitment to creating a sustainable model for both clinicians and the clients they serve.

Meet the Team

Our team includes licensed professionals and supervised clinicians who share a commitment to ethical care, thoughtful collaboration, and accessible telehealth services.

Dalton Brown, Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of Redefine & Realign Therapy.

Dalton Brown, MS, LPC
Founder & Licensed Professional Counselor

  • Dalton Brown is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of Redefine & Realign Therapy. His work is grounded in the belief that meaningful mental health care begins by meeting people where they are, both emotionally and practically. Through telehealth counseling, Dalton works with adults across Missouri who are seeking support for challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, and other personal concerns.

Dalton earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health from Southern New Hampshire University and his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. He is currently in the dissertation phase of his PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Walden University, where his qualitative research focuses on harmful and abusive supervision experiences within the counseling profession.

Before becoming a counselor, Dalton spent many years working in various roles within the mental health field, including positions in community agencies, rehabilitation services, behavioral health settings, and direct support work. These experiences continue to shape his understanding of how individuals navigate complex life circumstances and the importance of accessible, ethical mental health care.

In addition to providing counseling services, Dalton created Redefine & Realign Therapy with the goal of building a sustainable and supportive environment for both clients and clinicians. His approach emphasizes thoughtful collaboration, professional integrity, and creating space for individuals to pursue meaningful growth at their own pace.

Debbie Lai, counseling student intern at Redefine & Realign Therapy.

Deborah “Debbie” Lai
Counseling Student Intern

  • Debbie Lai is a counseling student intern at Redefine & Realign Therapy, providing services under the supervision of Dalton Brown, LPC. She brings a diverse professional background and a thoughtful perspective shaped by years of work across technology, policy, and mission-driven organizations.

Prior to entering the counseling field, Debbie worked at Google across new business development, product initiatives, and public policy. She later founded and led mission-focused organizations supporting philanthropic work in public health, climate initiatives, and civic engagement. These experiences inform her appreciation for both the ambition that drives people forward and the personal challenges that can accompany demanding professional and life transitions.

Debbie has lived and worked across several regions of the United States as well as internationally in Asia and Northern Europe. These experiences contribute to her understanding of cross-cultural identity, relocation, and the emotional complexities that often accompany major life changes.

She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. Debbie works with clients under professional supervision while continuing her training and development as a counselor.

Future Team Member
Licensed or Provisional Professional | Intern

  • Redefine & Realign Therapy continues to grow as additional clinicians and trainees join the practice. We welcome interest from counseling students seeking internship placements, provisionally licensed professionals pursuing supervised experience, and licensed clinicians looking for a collaborative telehealth environment.

Student interns and provisionally licensed counselors may be accepted when the practice has the staffing capacity and availability to provide appropriate supervision and training. Opportunities are considered on a case-by-case basis to ensure that both client care and professional development needs can be thoughtfully supported.

Licensed clinicians who join the practice typically do so as independent professionals, either bringing an existing client base or working toward building a caseload over time. These roles are structured as independent contractor positions, allowing clinicians the flexibility to work part-time or full-time while maintaining autonomy in their professional practice.

The goal of Redefine & Realign Therapy is to create a sustainable and supportive professional environment where clinicians can focus on meaningful work with clients while maintaining balance in their own lives.
